Two existing storey accommodation buildings were demolished to make way for the new Dan Murphy’s Liquor Store, a 1000m2 concrete tilt panel building with a mezzanine level. The project involved extensive Refurbishment of the existing 88 year old Ship Hotel building to provide modern facilities including Bistro Dining, Lounge and a Sports Bar. Both buildings have been completed to a high standard with a range of unique finishes including timber veneer, powdercoated expanded mesh feature ceilings, gold mirrors and gold anodised linings.
A number of existing buildings on the site are of significant heritage value requiring Perkins to exercise particular care during demolition and refurbishment works.
The time constrained programme involves the close management and coordination of trades working in a number of areas concurrently and saw Perkins complete the whole project in 6 months.
