The works are to carry out a full design based from the Client’s brief, and to construct the existing T1 departures façade which will enhance the Terminals’ front door to international passengers through the expansion of T1 Check In area, and the establishment of a new retail precinct. The work incorporates closing off part of the existing terminal with an 8m structural hoarding which has a suitable finish to allow the airport to use it for their advertising. The hoarding once erected segregates the public from the construction site to allow the demolition of the existing façade and canopies, which ultimately make way for the new more consistent façade, specialist retail tenancies and food and beverage tenancies.

Possession of the site was the October 2015, with works being phased for completion in three separable portions by September 2016.
