Perkins believes in fairness, equality and justice for all providing the opportunity of employment, training, and a sustainable career in construction to all members of the community. These qualities have been the core of Perkins culture and shall remain a central component into the future.
The Perkins Indigenous Engagement Plan is a demonstration of our commitment in closing the gap and working towards a more inclusive future. Officially launched in 2018, our Plan is based upon three key pillars; ‘Kylee’ Relationships, ‘Boornoo Wangkini’ Respect and ‘Gigdi’ Opportunities, and through these pillars we aspire to partner and work collaboratively to ensure sustainable, swift and long term opportunities for Indigenous Australians. Perkins chose to create our Plan as a natural progression of organic growth of our Corporate Social Responsibility approach to First Nations Australia.
EQUAL OPPORTUNITY
Construction is stereotypically a male dominated workplace; at Perkins we strive to provide equal opportunity for females wishing to join and work in our industry. We provide training and support to all our staff and encourage all to achieve their goals. We sponsor events such as the WA Business News Women in Business Seminar.25% of our Senior Management Team are female; all have worked their way up in their chosen fields, and within the company to now manage a department. The journey each has progressed through provides inspiration for our other female staff members; tangible evidence that if they too work hard, there is a pathway forward.
