Perkins Builders were pleased to complete this great project for the Perth Airport. The Terminal 1 International Departures Upgrade works involved the staged demolition and strip out of existing operational zones over an approximate 8,700m2 floor area.  These areas were renovated and reconfigured to provide expanded and upgraded Retail, Security screening, Customs and Immigration, Public Concourse and operations support areas.

It was essential to maintain existing operations which was facilitated through the implementation of various temporary arrangements associated with access, enablement works & out of hours works until such time that the existing operations were transitioned into their final design solution. A complete new floor plan layout was progressively constructed as the work areas rotated through the defined construction zone. Key considerations in the process was the area dedicated to the Out Bound Customs, Immigration and Screening Areas. These operations were located within the heart of the construction zone throughout the construction process and demanded a high level of interface & coordination to preserve operations with minimal impact to stakeholders and tenants.
